HLIC ALGORITHM
The HLIC2000 algorithm is based on evapotranspiration (ET). ET is a measurement the amount of moisture evaporated from a given vegetation. It is based on many factors, some of which are: Temperature, Solar Radiation, Pressure and Wind Speed. Team SSEI has reduced the algorithm to be dependent strictly on temperature. The other factors we have reduced to constants; taking a ten year average of Solar Radiation, Vapor Pressure Deficit and Wind Speed. Once ET is found, the irrigation frequency (IF) and station run times (SRT) can be calculated. This gives the HLIC2000 a streamlined, yet scientific approach to control it’s corresponding irrigation system.
