"HIGH POWER TEMPERATURE CONTROLLER"
Members:
Jason Hosler; team leader (responsible for documentation)
Lance Parsons; (responsible for programming, technical research, design implementation)
Randy Sherman
MAJOR PROJECT REQUIREMENTS:
DELIVER 30 AMPS AT 240VAC
CONTROL TEMPERATURE OF AN OVEN, KILN OR OTHER HEAT CONTROLLED PROCESS
CONTROL TEMPERATURE RAMPS - BOTH UP AND DOWN TO A SETPOINT
HOLD TEMPERATURE TO A PRESCRIBED TIME INTERVAL
PROVIDE A USER FRIENDLY INTERFACE
STORE PROCESS FILES
RECALL AND EXECUTE PROCESS FILES
SOFTWARE:
The control software was developed using Microsoft Visual Basic version 4.0.
We successfully implemented our design and met all software requirements.
HARDWARE:
An Athena PID loop temperature controller provide control of the heat process. Supervisory control was utilized to monitor the controller's status. The software updates the screen every three seconds which displays both the process and commanded temperature values.
