Project Description

This project is for the Arizona Water (AZWater) Student Design Competition (SDC) with the Water Environment Federation (WEF). Due to Arizona's rising crisis in water security due to climate change, the 91st Avenue Wastewater Treatment Plant (91st Ave WWTP) in Tolleson, AZ, is planning to construct an Advanced Water Purification Facility (AWPF) capable of treating 30 MGD. This indirect potable AWPF will receive water from the Tres Rio Flow Regulating Wetlands (FRW) which is supplied with secondary effluent from the 91st Ave WWTP. This project includes the advanced water treatment process, hydraulic design, construction process, and life-cycle cost analysis.
