The Pavement Paddlers
2024-2025 Concrete Canoe
NORTHERN ARIZONA UNIVERSITY
About The Project
The concrete canoe project revolves around designing and fabricating a concrete canoe that will be tested performance wise through various races during the Intermountain Southwest Student Symposium, also known as ISWS, as well as judged technically. The symposium will be held at The University of Arizona from April 10th through April 12th in 2025.
The team is responsible for designing and fabricating a mold for the canoe, creating a strong and efficient concrete mix design, conducting structural analysis and hull design calculations, demolding and finishing the canoe after the 28-day curing process, transporting the canoe to and from The University of Arizona, as well as participating in the various races during ISWS.
