Project Information
The following is the project loaction in Flagstaff.
The following is the parcel and retaining wall location on the parcel.
The project is located on the corner of Route 66 and Fourth Street. The retaining wall is being constructed to optimize land use for the construction of a Holiday Inn.The purpose of this project is to create a retaining wall which will allow the land owner, Holiday Inn, to maximize the use of their land. This retaining wall will serve to stabilize the slope that separates the grades of the Trax land and the railroad. The parcel is currently vacant and contains excess soil fill from the 2006 relocation of the railroad tracks.
Client: Stephen Irwin

Project Documentation
The documents below are the Proposal Tracks Team and the Final Product of the Project.
The team created a schedule in CENE476 during the proposal to determine the amount of time the project would take and the best path to complete it. The schedule through out the project was updated and changed constantly. The final and proposed final are linked below showing tasks and time of completions.
The team prior to start the project determined the amount of hours that would be worked and would compare them to the final hours actually worked. The staffing breaks down the hours between three different positions to help the team determine a cost for engineering services.
The team collected meeting minutes for every meeting with the client, grading instructor, and technical advisor. The meeting minutes were used to go over progres and the changes that needed to be made to the project.
The team completed three preliminary wall designs and presented to the client, Stephen Irwin. The wall designs were choosen based on two decision matrices, one that narrowed the seven total walls to three and then with the decision of the client to the final wall design. Listed below is the matrices, preliminary wall designs, and the final chosen wall design.
The team took the determinations of the final three wall designs and created three preliminary cross sections and designs. The team used the alignment of the wall to then create plan and profiles of each wall, steping the wall when needed.
The team created a plan set of all wall designs and the final design, the concrete masonry unit retaining wall. The team provided details for the handrail proposed on top of the wall and the weepholes used for drainage. The final design shows an alignment, profile and cross section of the wall.
